Javed Zahiri
Deputy CEO
Mr. Zahiri is a
professional banker having 17+ years of experience in various level positions
as manager, deputy chief operating officer, acting chief operating officer,
acting deputy CEO, acting chief executive officer and chairman of the board of
the management at the Islamic Bank of Afghanistan formerly Bakhtar Bank. He has
worked in close coordination with board of the directors, management board, towards
growth of the bank’s business and achieve organizational excellence, and he
played a vital role in the conversion of the bank to the first ever
full-fledged Islamic Bank in the country.
Mr. Zahiri holds
master's degree in Business Administration from Dunya University Kabul
Afghanistan as well as BBA in Business Administration from Ghazi Amanullah Khan
Institute of Higher Education Kabul, Afghanistan. He has also attended other
essential courses during his career, including a certification in professional
Islamic banking from EAIFE (European Academy for Islamic Finance and Economics)
in Istanbul, Turkey, certification of completion for
successfully completing AML/CFT Compliance Training for board of Management and
Board of supervisors, AAOIFI sensitization program for director and senior
management of IFI’s and a certification
in Islamic Banking and Finance from Earnest and Young Kabul, Afghanistan
Overall, Mr. Zahiri
is a highly expert and valued professional in the banking industry, with a
demonstrated history of success and leadership. His contributions to the
Islamic Bank of Afghanistan have been noteworthy, and his expertise and skills
